Yew Agincourt Sheffield made folding knife

st. crispins day

We few, we happy few, we band of brothers; For he today that sheds his blood with me Shall be my brother; be he ne’er so vile    This day shall gentle his condition;               And gentleman in England now a-bed           Shall think themselves accursed they were not here,                                                     And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks,                                                         That fought with us upon Saint Crispin’s day

fragments of history black 250

The Battle of Agincourt was fought on the 25th October 1415 - St. Crispin’s Day. The place as the French call it is Azincourt and the battlefield is still farmland. One of the grave pits is marked in the trees with a cross but not much else remains to denote the place as the site of a battle. The battlefield stands between the villages of Tramecourt and Azincourt. Tramecourt contains a fine avenue of trees leading to a Chateau. The associated church was robbed some twenty years ago of it’s best fittings and is now kept kept locked.

2015 marked the 600th Anniversary of the Battle of Agincourt in which the longbow used by the English and Welsh archers destroyed the French. The yew has always been associated with the longbow in Britain. Our Sheffield made traditional folding knife has scales of Yew. The yew we use has been seasoned for ten years and it comes from an ancient Cornish yew. Over the years it has seasoned it has turned into various shades of orange and it’s a beautiful wood. A fine battle of Agincourt commemorative piece and a great battle of Agincourt gift for those with an interest in Archery, British history or just quality British made folding knives.
